1967
As a genuine entrepreneur, very much devoted to people, technology and machines, Wies Colen already saw a lot of potential in the machine-building industry. Therefore, on 1 October 1967, he established Mevi which was located in a small factory in the Dutch village Mierlo. The company focused on metalworks. Because of the hard work and dedication, business grew quickly and Mevi quickly became an established name in the industry. Large-known customers, such as Philips, OCÉ and Vlisco started to cooperate with him.

1988
Over the years, Mevi became increasingly successful in the precision engineering industry, keeping up with the rise of computerisation. In 1988, the company moved to one of its current locations in the city of Helmond (Netherlands) in order to further expand the business.

1995
After almost 30 years of entrepreneurship, it was time for Wies Colen to pass the business on to the next generation. Brother and sister Jacco Colen & Fabine Colen took over the family company. In 1995, they both accepted the challenge to lead Mevi, and holding on to the values that have characterised the company from day one: reliability, precision and creativity.In the following years, expansion of the business continued: in terms of professionalism and locations. Mevi BE (Belgium), Mevi CZ (Czech Republic) and Mevi Engineering (Netherlands) were established, in order to offer complete product lifecycle services and supply chain solutions.

2002
Production automation started to emerge in the high-precision metalworking industry. In this year, Mevi commissioned its first multi-pallet automated machining centre, for the efficient manufacturing of micrometre-accurate products.

2012
Responding to the ever-increasing requirements of the high-tech industry, different ways of manufacturing were introduced for securing even higher quality and cleanliness of modules and systems. To keep up with the highest quality demands, Mevi set-up its complete new cleanroom, in which its first grade-1 product was successfully assembled.

2014
Mevi was one of the partners of the “Dutch Technology Week” in 2014, an initiative to promote youngsters to encourage catching up a technical education. The main specialism of the event was robotics and demonstrations. Since then, Mevi and young talents have found each other on several paths many times.

2017
Mevi celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2017 together with the expansion of a completely new additional facility in the Netherlands to accommodate the increasing growth of the engineering activities.

2019
Mevi’s supply chain management activities received public recognition back in 2019, when the renowned Magazine “Link” awarded the company with the Best Logistics Supplier Award. According to the jury: “Mevi is an expert in managing its supply chain, anticipating customers’ demands and advising their engineers. The company’s strength really lies in the employees who have been loyal to the company for such a long time”.

2022
Mevi is an internationally operating first-tier supplier serving OEMs in a wide range of high-tech markets. The company employs over 100 highly skilled professionals, commands state-of-the-art engineering tools and manages four high-end production facilities. Senior Colen would have been proud. However, the company is not yet done growing and learning, as it aims for another 50 years!
